GEOCEM is a 100% virgin polypropylene fiber manufactured by following the most cutting-edge extrusion and spinning systems, which provide high quality and relevant features, making it the ideal add-on for concrete and mortar.
This product is marketed based on its CE marking, according to Directive 89/106/EEC on Construction Products.
This CE marking follows the Fibres for concrete UNE – EN 14889-2 standard. Part 2: Polymer fibers, definitions, specifications and compliance of February 2008>.
This product is not classified as dangerous according to EC regulations (67/548/EEC-88/379/EEC). Therefore, it will not have specific marking.
Used since the beginning of 2000, added to high-strength concretes, it is employed in the construction of tunnels, providing them with a degree of passive safety, as it significantly reduces the risk of spalling.
GEOCEM fiber used in fresh concrete reduces the formation of setting microcracks, which are responsible for the subsequent occurrence of shrinkage fissures.
When used in hardened concrete, it increases impact resistance and dimensional stability. It also increases fire resistance, the toughness rate, and decreases permeability.
The GEOCEM fiber also increases concrete behavior against abrasion.
Geocem fiber is available in water-soluble paper bags with dens of 6, 12 and 24 mm. From 150 g to 1,500 g
The GEOCEM 100% virgin polypropylene fiber is used in the following applications:
The GEOCEM fiber provides the following advantages when used as a concrete and mortar additive
In concrete and mortar preparation, GEOCEM fiber can be added both dry and after moisture measuring.
GEOCEM fiber can be used in any mixer employed for concrete and mortar preparation.
The ideal measure of GEOCEM fiber is 0.6 kg/m3 and the mixing time in the concrete mixer is approximately 50 seconds/m3, and about 30 to 45 seconds per m3 in the concrete plant mixer. For high-strength concretes, we recommend measures of 1 kg/m³.
